Story
Hi there!
We’re the Senior Technology class from Parkes Christian School, and in 2026 we’re making our long-awaited return to the iconic Moomba Birdman Rally in Melbourne!
After a few years away, this is our comeback year — and we’re ready to build, launch and fly (hopefully more fly than fall!) for a cause that truly matters.
The Challenge
Our team of 11 students has been designing and building a handmade aircraft from scratch as part of our Technology studies. From early sketches and structural testing to problem-solving and teamwork, this project has challenged us in the best possible way.
On Sunday 8 March 2026, our pilot Jack Greenland will take the leap off the platform, supported by his launch crew William Bligh, Xander Greef and Madison Wynstra, and the rest of our dedicated team. Whether we glide gracefully or make a spectacular splash, we’ll be doing it for something bigger than ourselves.
Our Charity – Little Wings
This year, we’ve chosen to fundraise for Little Wings, a charity that provides free air and ground transport for seriously ill children and their families, helping them access vital medical treatment.
Living in regional NSW, we understand how challenging distance can be when specialist care is needed. Little Wings makes an incredible difference to families during some of their hardest moments — and we’re proud to support them.

Little Wings Limited
Little Wings is a nonprofit organization that provides free, professional and safe flight and ground transport services for sick children in rural and regional NSW. We strive to ease the journey and help sick children access specialised medical services and treatments that are only available in major cities or towns. We do everything we can to support families by easing the financial burden, emotional strain and travel fatigue that they experience due to the long-distance travel associated with receiving vital medical treatment.
